Vladimir Tolstoy, great-great-grandson of Leo Tolstoy, is responsible for
the rescue and preservation of Leo Tolstoy's estate, Yasnaya Polyana.
Mr. Tolstoy, Director of the State Museum-Estate of Leo Tolstoy at Yasnaya
Polyana since 1994, is steward of the family legacy and the 1,000 acre estate
where Tolstoy lived and worked.

Galina Alexeeva, Ph.D., is Head of Research at the Tolstoy Museum-Estate at
Yasnaya Polyana. She has organized a number of international scholarly
conferences at Yasnaya Polyana devoted to Tolstoy's literary legacy and has
published widely on Tolstoy's relationship to the American transcendentalists.
